It's been a long time since I last posted. Here's another of my writings "A Near Fighting Incident in the MRT / Bully in the
MRT".
I hoped he regretted his mistake.
The doors of the MRT tinkled, warning as I dashed into
the MRT train. I was returning in a hurry from school as I needed to attend
some home tuition. Settling onto a brightly coloured sofa, I stared out the
window from behind me. The lush greenery outside seemed to whiz pass by at the
speed of a bullet before I could ever catch a glimpse of it. Relaxing back into
my seat, I decided on sizing up the other commuters.
Just then, a voice drifted in my direction.
“Do you think I was done with you at school, Tom?” Hand
me all your money, or else!” the voice bellowed. Turning around, I saw a
tousle-haired boy with piston-like legs scooping up a weak and pale boy like a
kitten. Nobody else seemed to notice this incident occurring. Either they were
sleeping or engrossed in their respective activities. Taking a closer look at
the bully’s uniform … Wait a minute, he was from my school!
Anger engulfed me like a fire-breathing dragon. How dare
the tousle-haired boy bully an innocent boy? “Hey, what do you think you are
doing?” I enquired menacingly to the bully. He dropped Tom with a thunderous
thud back onto his seat and narrowed his coal-black eyes with animosity at me.
Our eyes met and for that splitting moment, the bully’s eyes showed a tinge of
annoyance. A rascally glint then lit up his eyes, sending chills down my
vertebrae momentarily. He replied, “You got spunk, eh? Want to fight?” The
bully said, clenching his fists. All of a sudden, my anger was swallowed by my
fear. Every nerve in my leg screamed “Run!”
That was when the savior arrived.
“Excuse me, what are you doing?” a voice behind me asked.
The bully turned around and his eyes widened with fear. Startled, I turned
around to see my form teacher, Mrs Tan. Apparently, she had been in the train,
observing our every move from the time the MRT train had left the station. As I
made my way back to my seat, I muttered a prayer of thinks for an ordeal had
been fortunately averted in the nick of time. Looking at Mrs Tan handing the
bully a piece of her mind in front of many commuters, only one thought formed
in my mind.
