Never | Essay for 10 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Take heed of this essay "Never" ... for it tells of what to take note of in life ...           Never.          Never had I ever expected it to turn out this way.          It all started as a result of my alarm clock! The batteries’ lifespan was out and this inevitably led it to not ringing. I found myself waking up late! It was 9 am! Being the sole breadwinner in my family, panic and anxiety engulfed me. I was as sure as taxes and death that I would be fired if I had been late once again. It had become a bad habit. Pulling off the morning lethargy, I dressed myself and headed out.          Growing even more tense with every second, I rushed down the stairs. In a haste, I forgot to wear my spectacles. I gobbled down my breakfast and rushed into my old but trusty Toyota.      ...

The Fatal Accident | Essay for 10 Year Olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Here's an essay done up with a collaborative effort with my dad - "The Fatal Accident" , written during my Primary Four (10 year old) days.             “Oh dear. I ‘m late for work!” thought Mr Tan when he woke up and saw the time. It was seven in the morning! He rushed to the bathroom as quick as lightning.             Fifteen minutes later, Mr Tan whooshed into the dining room for a quick breakfast. His wife, Mrs Tan was in the kitchen, as busy as a bee, preparing breakfast for the family. Spotting her husband out of the corner of her navy blue eyes, she chided him, “You really need to have a sense of urgency.”             In five minutes, Mr Tan had wolfed down his breakfast. “Bye. See you tonight,” said Mr Tan as he kissed his wife and hastily hurried to his car.             As Mr Tan drove to work, he was so keyed up as he thought aloud, “Can...

The Accident | Primary Four Essay for 10 Year Olds | Tang Yu Jun | Singapore

Let me introduce to you another one of my classmates from Ngee Ann Primary School, Tang Yu Jun , who has contributed his work "The accident" . “Hurry up!” Tom and Fred’s mother hollered. It was the perfect weather for snuggling under the cosy covers of the blanket but Tom and Fred had to go to school. Their father was already dressed in a business suit and was waiting impatiently for them to get ready. Their mother was hurrying the boys along, looking in alarm at the same time on the elegant watch on her wrist. However, Tom and Fred were complaining about the bad weather and were being extremely uncooperative. Fred yelled, “Why do we need to go to school on a rainy day?!” Tom screamed, “I’m not ready for the test today!” But their father, who was getting impatient, thundered, “Get into the car now! If not, I’ll be late for my meeting!” Reluctantly, the boys trudged towards the car. Dark, ominous clouds swept across the sky and it was raining cats and dog...

An Accident | Primary 2 essay for 8 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Accidents have been happening more frequently in Singapore, haven't they? I hope drivers, motor-cyclists, cyclists and pedestrians alike will all take ample precaution and keep both our roads and pavements safe. Here is an essay I wrote on the details of an accident. An Accident It was a bright and sunny afternoon. John was making his way to a shopping centre. He was crossing the traffic light junction between Queenstown and Queensway. Out of the blue, he saw a van hurtling towards him . At a quick glance, he noticed the van driver talking on his mobile phone. Just then, the van driver lost control of his vehicle. The van was going against the traffic. The driver of the oncoming car slammed hard on his brakes.   Unfortunately, it was too late. Although screeching to an ear-piercing stop , the car rammed head on to the van.  Desperately, the van driver clung onto his steering wheel trying as far as he c...
