Never be late again! | Primary Four (10 year old) | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Here's a piece of work I did up when I was in Primary Four (10 years old) " Never be late again! Primary Four work" . “Never be late again! Understand me?” stern words of Serene’s teacher, Mrs Ann echoed in her mind as she pasted a note to remind herself never to be late ever again. She had learnt a valuable lesson that day. It was a Tuesday morning. The sun bathed the ground with warmth and sunlight. The streets were bustling with vehicles as parents ferried their children to school before proceeding to the office. Serene’s alarm clock rang incessantly, signaling the start of yet another routine school day. Serene woke up with a jolt. On noticing that it was seven o’clock, Serene’s face turned as pale as death. At that moment, her jaw fell in utter shock. After that, Serene whooshed off to the bathroom as quick as a wink finished her shower. Serene hastily dressed up into her school uniform and tore down the stairs. Her mother, Mrs Gan, who was tapping her foot i...

Danny's Dreadful Drowning Incident | Primary School Essays | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Here's another harrowing experience about " Danny’s Dreadful Drowning Incident" . The incident that occurred to Danny always sends shivers down his spine whenever he recalls it. In fact, Danny can remember the incident so vividly till this day. The chain of events started on a Saturday afternoon. Fluffy white clouds floated across the clear blue sky. The sun blazed unforgivingly. The sand glittered gold in the sun as Danny, Dick and Tim, most affectionately known as The Three Musketeers played with their red beach ball. There were a lot of people at the beach. Some were sun tanning, while others were having a picnic. Adrenalin pumped through their bodies as the three boys played “Catch it if you can!” Danny taunted both Dick and Tim. At the same time, he tossed the beach ball with all his might beyond Dick and Tim’s reach. The ball landed onto the deep end of the water. A current had carried it further away from the shore. Danny was dreadfully upset. Dick ...

A bitter lesson in failure | Essay for 10 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Here is another one of my works " A bitter lesson in failure" ...              Justin was utterly disappointed.             Bitter tears rolled down his cheeks as he glanced over his overall results. His results were most appalling. Justin’s best friend, mean Matthew, could not stop laughing at the form teacher, Mrs Lim’s comments in Justin’s report book. It read, “Justin is a bright spark but is simply plain lazy. He must work extremely hard for the upcoming SA2 examinations if he wants to stay in the top class.” Feeling utterly down with the comments, he did not bother to tell Matthew off for laughing at him. Just then, memories of the days preceding the return of the report book came flooding back to Justin’s mind.             Justin was in his room, revising for the SA1 examinations. Des...

What happens when you turn a deaf ear to your elders? | Essay for 10 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

The title of my next essay is " What happens when you turn a deaf ear to your elders?" . Have a read to see what happens ...  Blurry-eyed, Jane woke up and thought aloud. What is the time now? Seeing the time on her alarm clock, she gasped in horror. With a whoosh, Jane rushed towards the bathroom like a speeding bullet from a revolver. It was already seven in the morning! Jane finished her bath and dressed into her school uniform all within the time frame of seven minutes. Mrs Tay shook her head when Jane came out. “You should really have a sense of urgency,” Mrs Tay told her, her voice indicative she was angry. Her blue eyes stared at Jane as Jane wolfed down her breakfast of ham sandwiches. Mrs Tay also reminded Jane to take an umbrella along. The sky looked dark grey, which could mean that there was an impending storm. Unfortunately, Jane simply turned a deaf ear on her mother’s advice and replied defiantly in a huff, “You don’t think I’m that stup...

Caught red-handed stealing in school | Essay for 10 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Here is an essay on "Caught red-handed stealing in school"  - crime certainly never pays off ...             “Mummy, may I have that mobile phone, please?” Mike pleaded pitifully to his mother. He tugged at her skirt insistently, so much so that it was most annoying. He gestured emphatically to the mobile phone of his desire. The mobile phone was displayed prominently up front in the shop’s showcase. Refusing to give in to her son’s persistent demands, Mike’s mother dismissed his request with a wave of her right hand, and a glare of annoyance. Still not wanting to give up, Mike pleaded yet again. This time round, Mike’s mother reprimanded him. Embarrassed, he walked away, head hung low. The next day, before class could start, Mike’s coal-black eyes stared at the mobile phone that one of his classmates had. She was seated in front of him. It was the mobile phone that he had so badly wanted to buy the previous...
