The Reward after my Exams | Essay for 8 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

"The Reward after my Exams" is an unpublished essay from my days in Primary Two.       Yesterday, my family and I went to Vivocity to buy the Hex bugs toy from ToysRUs.   We were intending to have our dinner there too.   After my father had parked his car, my family and I went to ToysRUs, which was on the second floor, to buy the toys.       When we reached ToysRUs, I saw a huge variety of toys there.   I quickly rushed to find the Hex bugs while my family followed behind me.   When we reached the Hex Bug section, I happily chose the Hex bug toys I had been looking forward to.       Then we went up to have our dinner at a restaurant which was an “eat all you can eat” buffet restaurant.   Its name is Marche.   Before we could go in, one of the staff gave each of us a card to use to pay for our food. After we got our seats, I went with my parents to select the food I wanted.   ...

Picnic in the Park - a family outing | Primary Two Essay (for 8 year olds) | Elijah Wee | Singapore

"Picnic in the park - a family outing" - that's a real fun family outing and is also the title of my essay here from my Primary Two collection. It was a windy Saturday afternoon. Tom’s parents decided to bring Tom and his sister to the park for a picnic. Tom and his sister were excited as it was the first time they were going for a picnic. They packed everything they needed into the car, including a picnic mat, a picnic basket and some food. When they reached the park, they quickly took out and laid the picnic mat and picnic basket onto the soft grass. They ate the delicious sandwiches that their mother had prepared for the. After finishing up the food, Tom and his sister went to a nearby pond while their parents read the newspapers they had brought along. Soon it was time to go. Both Tom and his sister were reluctant to leave. Tom’s parents told them that they could come back again. On the way back home, Tom smiled to himself. He certainly enjoyed hi...

Chicken and friends at a picnic - an early Primary Two essay (for 8 year olds) | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Here is a very short essay I wrote in the earlier part of my Primary Two (8 year old) days ... "Chicken and friends at a picnic" . It was a sunny day. Chicken and his friends decided to have a picnic. They packed everything they needed for the picnic. After that, they set off. When they reached the field, Chicken’s best friend, Raccoon, laid out the picnic mat while Chicken and the rest of his friends took out the food. When they had finished, they sat down to enjoy their meal. There was a buffet of delicious food lined up awaiting to be eaten . They enjoyed the food and at the end of it, they were stuffed . After finishing the food, they played some games before going home. It was a wonderful day for them. How did you find this short story? ;-) Later soon, Elijah Wee Photo credit: Pinti 1 / Foter.com / CC BY

Snake in class! (Primary Two essay for 8 year olds by Elijah Wee from Singapore)

Do you take to snakes? Err ... I feel kinda squirmish when I see them crawling around, even when they are behind cages! Here is an essay about the incident "Snake in class!" Mrs. Lee was teaching her pupils English in class. All the pupils were paying attention to her. The pupils liked her as she was a kind teacher. Her face was always bright and cheery. Mrs. Lee was explaining to the pupils a question and Jane was taking down some notes down based on what Mrs. Lee was teaching them. Jane was about to complete writing down her notes when she heard a hissing sound. Turning around to see what was making the sound, she realized that there was a dark green snake. The snake had coiled around a broom next to the bin. It was almost lifeless. Her face turned as pale as a ghost and she then let out a loud ear-piercing scream . When the rest of the pupils heard her scream, they were dumbfounded and turned to see what happening. Seeing the venomous snake, they ...

An Incident in the Cinema (Primary 2 essay for 8 year olds by Elijah Wee, Singapore)

I like watching movies, especially action packed movies - Ironman, Spiderman :-) my favourite ... Did you ever have any incidents at the cinema? Well I had to write about one in the following essay I did when I was in Primary Two ...  Whenever John visits a cinema, he will always remember an incident. John was at the cinema watching a movie.   While watching the movie, his mobile phone rang.   He had forgotten to switch it to silent mode.   John picked up his mobile phone.   It was his best friend, James.  Oblivious that he was in the cinema, John started chatting merrily away .   He ignored the fact that he was actually disturbing other patrons.   Nevertheless, John ignored the continuous “shh” by the patrons and continued chatting. Within minutes, a hot-tempered lady stood up and walked towards the entrance.   There she narrated to a security guard what was happening. The security guard sprang into action. ...
