An Act of Bravery | Essay for kids | Elijah Wee | Singapore

"An act of bravery"  was an essay I wrote and was featured recently :-) Hope you like it.             Davin’s act of bravery was certainly admirable.             “Class, this is the new student, Davin Chang. Please welcome him as our new addition!” Mrs Phua, our teacher, informed everyone in her usual chirpy voice. Shooting a look at him, I instantly made a silent decision never to befriend him. Davin was as skinny as a twig and looked shy. What’s more, his school uniform was as old as the hill, indicating that he was probably living in extreme poverty. All of us must have shared the same thoughts, for everyone seemed to look at him in utter disgust. From that day onwards, we made an “oath” - never to befriend him. After all, why bother befriending Davin when he was poor and looked like a rodent?           ...

A good deed - rescue of a trapped cat (Primary 2 Essay for 8 years olds by Elijah Wee, Singapore)

Here is another cat rescue essay from my Primary Two (8 years old) home practice collection . A good deed (rescuing a trapped cat) One windy Wednesday after school, John was walking back home.  Out of the bolt , he heard a crying sound and turned around to see what was making the crying sound.   Tom followed the sound and saw a little girl crying at the tree beside him. John asked the little girl why she was crying.    The little girl told him that her cat had climbed up the tree and could not climb back down.   John looked up the tree and saw a scared and frightened cat perched onto one of the tree branches. Immediately, John called the firemen for help.   Within minutes, the firemen arrived at the scene.   After placing a ladder against the tree, a fireman climbed up the ladder to help get the cat safely down. On reaching the ground, the cat immediately jumped into its owner’s arms.   The little girl was happy that her cat was resc...

Jane saves a cat (Primary 2 essay for 8 year olds by Elijah Wee, Singapore)

Here is a short essay during my earlier days as a Primary Two (8 years old) student at Ngee Ann Primary School . Jane saves a cat It was a Sunday morning. Jane was strolling along a canal. She was on her way to the mall. As she was walking, Jane saw a cat in the canal.  The cat was drowning. When Jane saw the cat drowning, she felt worried that the cat would die. Jane wanted to save the cat but she was worried and frightened that she would drown with the cat too.  After much consideration , Jane decided to rescue the cat.  She slowly climbed over the railing and walked down the steps.  The cat was near the steps.  In the end, she managed to rescue the cat from the canal.  She felt happy and glad. a work by Elijah Wee , Singapore Photo credit: rikkis_refuge / Foter.com / CC BY
