Picnic in the Park - a family outing | Primary Two Essay (for 8 year olds) | Elijah Wee | Singapore

"Picnic in the park - a family outing" - that's a real fun family outing and is also the title of my essay here from my Primary Two collection.

It was a windy Saturday afternoon. Tom’s parents decided to bring Tom and his sister to the park for a picnic. Tom and his sister were excited as it was the first time they were going for a picnic. They packed everything they needed into the car, including a picnic mat, a picnic basket and some food.

When they reached the park, they quickly took out and laid the picnic mat and picnic basket onto the soft grass. They ate the delicious sandwiches that their mother had prepared for the.

After finishing up the food, Tom and his sister went to a nearby pond while their parents read the newspapers they had brought along.

Soon it was time to go. Both Tom and his sister were reluctant to leave. Tom’s parents told them that they could come back again. On the way back home, Tom smiled to himself. He certainly enjoyed himself this afternoon at the park.

Have you ever been in a picnic with your family?

See you later~

Stuck in the lift | Short essay, story for kids | Elijah Wee | Singapore

"Stuck in the lift" - an experience I am sure a number of you may be able to relate to ... but in this particular case though, it was a little worse than the usual one ...              Brave.             I had always thought I was brave. As brave as a lion. Not fearful of anything.             Until the lift had broken down.             I was waiting patiently for the lift doors to open. A mother and her daughter waited patiently. The mother, clad in a light blue dress made of best quality material, clutched her daughter’s hand. Her lustrous blond hair cascaded down her well-toned shoulders. My innermost thoughts were soon jolted by the familiar mechanical sound of the lift’s doors opening. If only I had reconsidered taking the stairs … ...

Marooned on an island | Essay for 10 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Hey there. Here's an adventure story " Marooned on an island" from me - a departure from my usual essay topics. Hope you enjoy this!             “No. This cannot be happening,” I muttered to myself as I stared at what was right before my bespectacled eyes. I had been marooned on a deserted island. The ship I was in had run aground.             The sun shone brilliantly and the high clouds drifted across the clear blue sky. My hands felt clammy. I tried looking for any signs of human activity but there was nobody in sight. The thought of being all alone sent shivers down my spine.             Being positive, I decided to go in search of food for myself. Arriving at the entrance of the jungle twenty minutes later, I was trembling like a leaf and my heart pounded wildly as I staggered uninhabited jungle on the i...

Incident of cheating at the exams (Primary 4 essay for 10 year olds by Elijah Wee, Singapore)

I am particularly proud of this essay I wrote when I was in Primary 4  (10 years old) at Ngee Ann Primary School - received my personal best score for this one, entitled "Incident of cheating at the exams" .     John was a lazy boy. He would always play computer games and watch television. One day, before his English examination, he began to panic as he had not revised for it. John took out his textbook and copied some notes down on the palm of his hand.     The next day, when the English examination had started, their form teacher, Mrs Ong, left the examination hall and the stern-looking Mrs Lim entered. As John was writing on his paper, he encountered a difficult question. No matter how hard he tried to think of the answer, his mind remained a blank state . Just then, an idea brewed in his mind, "Why not copy the answers from the palm of my hand?"     Before copying, John scanned the whole place like a robber on the lookout for men in b...
