Jane saves a cat (Primary 2 essay for 8 year olds by Elijah Wee, Singapore)

Here is a short essay during my earlier days as a Primary Two (8 years old) student at Ngee Ann Primary School.


Jane saves a cat

 It was a Sunday morning. Jane was strolling along a canal. She was on her way to the mall. As she was walking, Jane saw a cat in the canal.  The cat was drowning.

 When Jane saw the cat drowning, she felt worried that the cat would die.

 Jane wanted to save the cat but she was worried and frightened that she would drown with the cat too. After much consideration, Jane decided to rescue the cat.  She slowly climbed over the railing and walked down the steps.  The cat was near the steps.  In the end, she managed to rescue the cat from the canal.  She felt happy and glad.

I am particularly proud of this essay I wrote when I was in Primary 4  (10 years old) at Ngee Ann Primary School - received my personal best score for this one, entitled "Incident of cheating at the exams" .     John was a lazy boy. He would always play computer games and watch television. One day, before his English examination, he began to panic as he had not revised for it. John took out his textbook and copied some notes down on the palm of his hand.     The next day, when the English examination had started, their form teacher, Mrs Ong, left the examination hall and the stern-looking Mrs Lim entered.
