School Fight! | Elijah Wee | Primary Three Essay (for 9 year olds) | Singapore

Here's one I wrote about a "School Fight" during my Primary Three days.

“Ring … Ring!” the bell for recess rang loudly. Pupils swarmed into the canteen to purchase food to eat. Some pupils went to purchase drinks to quench their thirst. After finishing their plates of fried noodles, Jason and Tommy placed their plates into the receptacles before going to the back alley of the canteen. When they reached the back alley, Jason fished out a pack of magic cards. They had agreed the previous day to play a game of ‘scissors, paper and stone’ at the back alley of the canteen. Jason and Tommy had decided that whoever won would get to keep the pack of magic cards.

“Yes! I won! Now Jason give me the pack of magic cards.” Tommy exclaimed excitedly. Jason was unwilling to give the pack of magic cards. So he said, “Let’s have another game to decide who is the winner.” At that moment, a voice boomed from nowhere, “Why not fight to decide who is the one who deserve the pack of magic cards? Besides, it will be fun!” It was none other then Tim and his gang of boys. They were notorious and well-known for bullying pupils during recess. Even though they were reprimanded many times, Tim and his gang of boys never seemed to learn their lesson.

Jason and Tommy had no choice. They knew that Tim and his gang of boys had forced pupils to fight before. If their victims did not relent, Tim and his gang would beat them up. Jason and Tommy pretended to fight. They exchanged gentle punches. They also pushed each other down gently onto the ground.

At that juncture, the discipline master, Mr Tan, shouted, “Tim are you bullying pupils again?” Jason and Tommy decided to seize this opportunity to break out from Tim and his gang of boys. They ran like there was no tomorrow. Unexpectedly, they bumped into Mr Tan.

Mr Tan demanded that Jason and Tommy tell him what had happened. After relating what had happened, Mr Tan’s face turned red. He told Jason and Tommy that why they had done was right. Mr Tan said that he would notify the parents of Tim and his friends of what had happened. They also would be caned. Jason and Tommy hoped that Tim and his gang of boys would turn over a new leaf.

Have you ever been in or encountered a school fight?

See you soon!

Stuck in the lift | Short essay, story for kids | Elijah Wee | Singapore

"Stuck in the lift" - an experience I am sure a number of you may be able to relate to ... but in this particular case though, it was a little worse than the usual one ...              Brave.             I had always thought I was brave. As brave as a lion. Not fearful of anything.             Until the lift had broken down.             I was waiting patiently for the lift doors to open. A mother and her daughter waited patiently. The mother, clad in a light blue dress made of best quality material, clutched her daughter’s hand. Her lustrous blond hair cascaded down her well-toned shoulders. My innermost thoughts were soon jolted by the familiar mechanical sound of the lift’s doors opening. If only I had reconsidered taking the stairs … ...

Marooned on an island | Essay for 10 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Hey there. Here's an adventure story " Marooned on an island" from me - a departure from my usual essay topics. Hope you enjoy this!             “No. This cannot be happening,” I muttered to myself as I stared at what was right before my bespectacled eyes. I had been marooned on a deserted island. The ship I was in had run aground.             The sun shone brilliantly and the high clouds drifted across the clear blue sky. My hands felt clammy. I tried looking for any signs of human activity but there was nobody in sight. The thought of being all alone sent shivers down my spine.             Being positive, I decided to go in search of food for myself. Arriving at the entrance of the jungle twenty minutes later, I was trembling like a leaf and my heart pounded wildly as I staggered uninhabited jungle on the i...

Incident of cheating at the exams (Primary 4 essay for 10 year olds by Elijah Wee, Singapore)

I am particularly proud of this essay I wrote when I was in Primary 4  (10 years old) at Ngee Ann Primary School - received my personal best score for this one, entitled "Incident of cheating at the exams" .     John was a lazy boy. He would always play computer games and watch television. One day, before his English examination, he began to panic as he had not revised for it. John took out his textbook and copied some notes down on the palm of his hand.     The next day, when the English examination had started, their form teacher, Mrs Ong, left the examination hall and the stern-looking Mrs Lim entered. As John was writing on his paper, he encountered a difficult question. No matter how hard he tried to think of the answer, his mind remained a blank state . Just then, an idea brewed in his mind, "Why not copy the answers from the palm of my hand?"     Before copying, John scanned the whole place like a robber on the lookout for men in b...
