The surprise | Essay for 10 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

"The surprise" tells about an unpleasant and tragic turn of events ...      The surprise.     A memorable day. What was Father going to bring back home? I had done well for my final year examinations. My raven dark hair danced in the light breeze as though it was celebrating my success with me.     “Amy, stop jumping around! You will soon collide into something. And what if it is fragile?” Mother warned me. “What if? I do not care!” My loud reply reverberated throughout the otherwise silent house. I was simply on top of the world! I am the apple of my father’s eye – he would definitely bring back something nice I had thought to myself.     A few hours later, my sheer happiness soon began to die down. My eyes which were sparkling like stars soon stopped. Anxiety engulfed me. When is Father coming back home? He should be back by now. I tried to contemplate positive thoughts but it was impossible. All at once, I began to feel as though something had happened. T

An act of kindness | Essay for Primary School kids | Elijah Wee | Singapore

" An act of kindness" , a essay I wrote earlier in Primary 4 (10 years old) ...           School was over.          “Mountains and mountains of homework! Why do our teachers have to give us so much homework these days?” lamented Jason as he trudged home with heavy footsteps on the pavement. His schoolbag weighed like a ton of bricks. Jason felt that sooner or later he would collapse because of the heavy weight! Jason’s face was as glum as an oyster and he was not in the best of moods.          However, Jason’s mood was soon destined to be changed.          At that juncture, from the corner of his deep-set eyes, Jason spotted an old man hobbling past him. He was a tall shrivelled person who looked as though all body juices had been dried out of him long ago in a hot oven. On his feet, he wore worn-out leather shoes, which looked as though they had been patched up a million times. The old man had scanty white hair, a wrinkly face which was as pale as death. He u

Never be late again! | Primary Four (10 year old) | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Here's a piece of work I did up when I was in Primary Four (10 years old) " Never be late again! Primary Four work" . “Never be late again! Understand me?” stern words of Serene’s teacher, Mrs Ann echoed in her mind as she pasted a note to remind herself never to be late ever again. She had learnt a valuable lesson that day. It was a Tuesday morning. The sun bathed the ground with warmth and sunlight. The streets were bustling with vehicles as parents ferried their children to school before proceeding to the office. Serene’s alarm clock rang incessantly, signaling the start of yet another routine school day. Serene woke up with a jolt. On noticing that it was seven o’clock, Serene’s face turned as pale as death. At that moment, her jaw fell in utter shock. After that, Serene whooshed off to the bathroom as quick as a wink finished her shower. Serene hastily dressed up into her school uniform and tore down the stairs. Her mother, Mrs Gan, who was tapping her foot i

Danny's Dreadful Drowning Incident | Primary School Essays | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Here's another harrowing experience about " Danny’s Dreadful Drowning Incident" . The incident that occurred to Danny always sends shivers down his spine whenever he recalls it. In fact, Danny can remember the incident so vividly till this day. The chain of events started on a Saturday afternoon. Fluffy white clouds floated across the clear blue sky. The sun blazed unforgivingly. The sand glittered gold in the sun as Danny, Dick and Tim, most affectionately known as The Three Musketeers played with their red beach ball. There were a lot of people at the beach. Some were sun tanning, while others were having a picnic. Adrenalin pumped through their bodies as the three boys played “Catch it if you can!” Danny taunted both Dick and Tim. At the same time, he tossed the beach ball with all his might beyond Dick and Tim’s reach. The ball landed onto the deep end of the water. A current had carried it further away from the shore. Danny was dreadfully upset. Dick

Nasty Encounter with a Snatch Thief | Primary School Essays | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Exams are over and I'm back posting more essays. My next one "Nasty Encounter with a Snatch Thief" for your reading pleasure ...    As the saying goes ‘Low crime doesn’t mean no crime’. The police are always reminding citizens to be vigilant and observant of their surroundings. Criminals spring up at the most unexpected times and might take advantage of them. It is mostly the women who are likely to fall prey to these criminals. Here is a story of a theft that had occurred to a middle-aged lady. “A few more metres and I will reach the bus stop!” convincing herself as Mrs Gan took another stride. She had just finished her shopping and was walking to the bus-stop to catch a bus back home. Mrs Gan almond shaped eyes scanned her surroundings and inched her way towards the bus-stop she was heading to. At that juncture, a black motorcycle with two men whizzed out from nowhere and sped towards a panic-stricken Mrs Gan. As audacious as the day, the pillion rider lu
