Death of a pet | Essay for 8 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

From my archives of my days in Primary two, here is another essay about "Death of a pet".       Mary, a twelve-year –old girl, took her pet Dalmatian for a walk along Holland Road. At that time of the day, it was bustling with activity . Many vehicles were seen. At a nearby open field, four boys were playing soccer.       Unexpectedly, one of the boys kicked the ball so hard that the ball flew into the air and landed right onto the busy road. Mary saw the ball rolling onto the road. Her dog began barking excitedly wanting to retrieve it. At that juncture , the black and white Dalmatian broke free from its startled owner and ran across the road not giving much thought to oncoming vehicles.       The dog desperately wanted to catch hold of the ball. Like a bolt of the blue, a car appeared approaching in it direction at top speed. Unable to brake on time, the dog was knocked down. It somersaulted into the air and land...

The Reward after my Exams | Essay for 8 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

"The Reward after my Exams" is an unpublished essay from my days in Primary Two.       Yesterday, my family and I went to Vivocity to buy the Hex bugs toy from ToysRUs.   We were intending to have our dinner there too.   After my father had parked his car, my family and I went to ToysRUs, which was on the second floor, to buy the toys.       When we reached ToysRUs, I saw a huge variety of toys there.   I quickly rushed to find the Hex bugs while my family followed behind me.   When we reached the Hex Bug section, I happily chose the Hex bug toys I had been looking forward to.       Then we went up to have our dinner at a restaurant which was an “eat all you can eat” buffet restaurant.   Its name is Marche.   Before we could go in, one of the staff gave each of us a card to use to pay for our food. After we got our seats, I went with my parents to select the food I wanted.   ...

Picnic in the Park - a family outing | Primary Two Essay (for 8 year olds) | Elijah Wee | Singapore

"Picnic in the park - a family outing" - that's a real fun family outing and is also the title of my essay here from my Primary Two collection. It was a windy Saturday afternoon. Tom’s parents decided to bring Tom and his sister to the park for a picnic. Tom and his sister were excited as it was the first time they were going for a picnic. They packed everything they needed into the car, including a picnic mat, a picnic basket and some food. When they reached the park, they quickly took out and laid the picnic mat and picnic basket onto the soft grass. They ate the delicious sandwiches that their mother had prepared for the. After finishing up the food, Tom and his sister went to a nearby pond while their parents read the newspapers they had brought along. Soon it was time to go. Both Tom and his sister were reluctant to leave. Tom’s parents told them that they could come back again. On the way back home, Tom smiled to himself. He certainly enjoyed hi...

Chicken and friends at a picnic - an early Primary Two essay (for 8 year olds) | Elijah Wee | Singapore

Here is a very short essay I wrote in the earlier part of my Primary Two (8 year old) days ... "Chicken and friends at a picnic" . It was a sunny day. Chicken and his friends decided to have a picnic. They packed everything they needed for the picnic. After that, they set off. When they reached the field, Chicken’s best friend, Raccoon, laid out the picnic mat while Chicken and the rest of his friends took out the food. When they had finished, they sat down to enjoy their meal. There was a buffet of delicious food lined up awaiting to be eaten . They enjoyed the food and at the end of it, they were stuffed . After finishing the food, they played some games before going home. It was a wonderful day for them. How did you find this short story? ;-) Later soon, Elijah Wee Photo credit: Pinti 1 / Foter.com / CC BY
