The Mango Theft Incident – Version 2 (for 9 year olds) by Elijah Wee’s Classmate, Kooi Xiu Min | Singapore

I have recently requested my great pals and classmates from Ngee Ann Primary School to contribute their essays over here. Our English teacher, Ms Shah, has been our pillar of support for our essay sharing initiative. Here's the first contribution from my very first guest writer, Kooi Xiu Min with her essay,  "The Mango Theft Incident – Version 2" - well, version one was mine which I posted some time ago over here . “Oh … I’m so hungry!” Tim groaned. He had been walking home from his tuition class and was famished for he had not eaten a morsel for lunch. To make matters worse, the sun shone mercilessly and Tim was soaked with perspiration. From the corner of his eye, he saw his neighbor, Mr Flaherty’s mango tree. Here's another essay from my Ngee Ann Primary School Primary Three collection entitled "The Mango Theft Incident" . It was a tranquil Saturday afternoon. Sunlight filtered through the clouds. John was taking a stroll along the pavement. He had not eaten anything for breakfast and lunch as he had no mood to eat. “I should have eaten,” Jon thought to himself. As John was about to reach home, he shot furtive glances at Mrs Toh’s garden. Mrs Toh was John’s neighbor. She had always liked planting mango trees, so when John saw a mango tree which had a lot of ripe mangoes on it, his stomach growled in hunger. He was thrilled to bits when he saw the mangoes. John rubbed his hands gleefully and decided to steal a mango. John clambered over the fence and crept quietly into Mrs Toh’s garden. He scaled up the tree. Hands trembling, John plucked the mango closest to him. He was about the climb down when the branch that he was clinging onto suddenly snap...
