Here's a short essay entitled "A Visit to the Grandparents' Place" , which I composed when I was 8 years old. A Visit to the Grandparents’ Place It was a Saturday afternoon. Tom’s parents brought Tom and his sister to visit their grandparents. Tom and his sister were excited. They had not seen their grandparents for a long time. As their parents drove to their grandparents’ house, they thought of how their grandparents doted on them , like baking them cakes and cookies, buying them books to read, and playing chess and other board games with them. When they reached their grandparents’ house, Tom and his sister got out of the car and knocked on the door. Their grandparents opened the door and welcomed them with a big hug . There were big smiles on everyone’s faces. ...
