"That was the best birthday party ever!" is the title of this next essay from my Ngee Ann Primary School classmate, Stephanie Luong.             “That was the best party ever!” I screamed at the top of my lungs as I helped clean up the leftover food lying on the table. I was too besieged with exhilaration and jubilation to even pick up a plastic cup. I kept replaying in my head several times what happened that day…              I woke up early that fine Saturday morning. The smell of dew filled my nostrils as I quickly slipped on a pair of denim jeans and a t-shirt. I took a quick peep out of my window and saw the sun still lazily rising over the horizon . I dashed down the stairs with a spring in my step . When I entered the kitchen, I was shocked! There were no presents, no breakfast prepared and not even a simple birthday cake! I tried my best to fight back the tears that was starting to well up in my eyes...

Please welcome another of my Ngee Ann Primary School classmate, Stephanie Luong, in joining our community of young writers in my blog. Here is her first published essay "My ultimate moment (in sport)" .             The moment was finally here. It was now, or never. I had to win the trophy in order to prove myself worthy, and a small part of me wanted the wipe the smirk off my rival’s face, Mackenzie, as I knew how much that girl had yearned for that trophy. As all the participants gathered at the starting line, I looked up at the sea of faces and finally spotted my friends who were waving frantically and giving me the thumbs-up . I gave them a sly smile, took a deep breath, and walked towards the starting line. The arena was filled with people chatting enthusiastically.
