The Mango Theft Incident | Elijah Wee | Primary Three (9 year olds) Essay | Singapore

Here's another essay from my Ngee Ann Primary School Primary Three collection entitled "The Mango Theft Incident".

It was a tranquil Saturday afternoon. Sunlight filtered through the clouds. John was taking a stroll along the pavement. He had not eaten anything for breakfast and lunch as he had no mood to eat. “I should have eaten,” Jon thought to himself.

As John was about to reach home, he shot furtive glances at Mrs Toh’s garden. Mrs Toh was John’s neighbor. She had always liked planting mango trees, so when John saw a mango tree which had a lot of ripe mangoes on it, his stomach growled in hunger. He was thrilled to bits when he saw the mangoes. John rubbed his hands gleefully and decided to steal a mango.

John clambered over the fence and crept quietly into Mrs Toh’s garden. He scaled up the tree. Hands trembling, John plucked the mango closest to him. He was about the climb down when the branch that he was clinging onto suddenly snapped. John landed with a thud onto the ground. Pain shot through his body. John howled in pain. At that moment, Mrs Toh came out through the back door. When Mrs Toh saw John lying on the ground she was shocked. After asking John to explain what had happened, Mrs Toh consoled John before taking him back to his house.

Mrs Toh knocked on the door of John’s house. When Mrs Tan, John’s mother, opened the door, Mrs Toh said that she wanted to have a talk with her. Mrs Ton informed Mrs Tan that John had stolen a mango from her garden. Within minutes of Mrs Toh’s departure, Mrs Tan’s eyes narrowed and John felt as though they would burn right through him. “You should have eaten when you had the chance, not stealing a mango to eat! See, now you have sprained your leg!” Mrs Tan berated loudly. John felt as helpless as a baby while listening to his mother. “I’m sorry, Mum, for stealing a mango!” John apologised ruefully.

Since that incident, John never again tried to steal.

It certainly does not pay when you try to take things which do not belong to you. Crime does not pay ... and justice does tend to have a way to bite you back!

C u later!

Stuck in the lift | Short essay, story for kids | Elijah Wee | Singapore

"Stuck in the lift" - an experience I am sure a number of you may be able to relate to ... but in this particular case though, it was a little worse than the usual one ...              Brave.             I had always thought I was brave. As brave as a lion. Not fearful of anything.             Until the lift had broken down.             I was waiting patiently for the lift doors to open. A mother and her daughter waited patiently. The mother, clad in a light blue dress made of best quality material, clutched her daughter’s hand. Her lustrous blond hair cascaded down her well-toned shoulders. My innermost thoughts were soon jolted by the familiar mechanical sound of the lift’s doors opening. If only I had reconsidered taking the stairs … ...

The Surprise Birthday Party | Primary 2 essay for 8 year olds | Elijah Wee | Singapore

I have always loved birthday parties , whether it be mine or my friends'. Here is an essay on "The Surprise Birthday Party" , which I wrote when I was in Primary 2  (8 years old). The Surprise Birthday Party It was a beautiful Saturday morning. Jill was excited today as it was her birthday. She went down the stairs to have her breakfast with her family. Jill was excited as she ate her delicious breakfast. She was looking forward to her birthday party. In the afternoon, the whole family except Jill, went out shopping. Jill decided to take a nap while waiting for them.                    When she woke up, Jill went into the living room to check if her family had returned home. She found that the living room was dark and nobody was around. Strange, it was already into the night and her family had not yet come home. Jill decided to ...

An act of kindness | Essay for Primary School kids | Elijah Wee | Singapore

" An act of kindness" , a essay I wrote earlier in Primary 4 (10 years old) ...           School was over.          “Mountains and mountains of homework! Why do our teachers have to give us so much homework these days?” lamented Jason as he trudged home with heavy footsteps on the pavement. His schoolbag weighed like a ton of bricks. Jason felt that sooner or later he would collapse because of the heavy weight! Jason’s face was as glum as an oyster and he was not in the best of moods.          However, Jason’s mood was soon destined to be changed.          At that juncture, from the corner of his deep-set eyes, Jason spotted an old man hobbling past him. He was a tall shrivelled person who looked as though all body juices had been dried out of him long ago in a hot oven. On his feet, he wore worn-out leather ...
